irst off, I'll have to offer up a big, fat thank you to Alien Loves Predator's Bernie Hou for the wonderful opportunity of cross-comic advertising. I've hit some new highs in the short week I've been sponsoring ALP. Most of these "highs" come from those of you who hit the e-mail button up there and thought enough about LIPP to drop me some very kind words about my efforts here at LIPP World Headquarters.

It's always nice to know the website's getting htis. It's a bonus to actually get fan mail. So, I thought I'd share a couple of my favorites:

"I love you and I want to have your plastic babies. Seriously though, I haven’t had this many laughs involving legos since my childhood."
-- Colleen

"I just wanted to drop you a quick note of kudos. Your webcomic made me laugh out loud several times as I worked through the archive."
-- Adam

"I've probably ruined every chance of passing my upcoming English HSC paper (another fan from Sydney here), but it was worth it. It's bred a whole new form of sadism as my friends and I subject tiny LEGO men to Duplo blocks."
-- Melissa

So, there you have it. I've already had a lustful proposal, an affirmation of belly-laughs, and been the catalyst for one Aussie's failure to complete a step on the road to higher learning!

Further, I got an email from a guy named Jay, creator of Master and Servant. I would be remiss if I didn't mention him in the news, as he's decided to drop a mention of me over at his comic.

I am considered a nemesis! That's pretty cool, actually. I like the sound of that. What would really be fun is having that printed on a t-shirt:

Nemesis!

Anyway, about the comic.

The first frame is a screen capture I took while gaming with a couple friends in World of Warcraft (Ner'zhul server, Clan mAc -- if that sort of knowledge interests you).

The second frame's a screen capture from my newly-purchased, fresh-off-the-shelf-at-BestBuy, Battlefield 2142. So far, I like it. It's come with its problems: frequent server drops, uncommon game freezes, and whatever other problems that happen with a just-released, unpatched game. It's fun so far, especially the ability to mount up in bipedal walkers.

"They act as if these walkers are new. I just wanna say, 'Kid, I was piloting Mechs long before you knew what a bipedal tank looked like!"

If anything, the lingusitic practices portrayed in those first two frames are pretty much what any intelligent gamer has to wade through before finding people actually worth playing with. That's what gave me the idea for the comic.

I miss the pencil-and-paper role-playing game days.

Shadowrun. Now that was a game.

Focusing a critical eye on basically everything. Art Koziol's photojournalistic study on the world of punk music.
The guy that basically lets me freeload off his server. Host to LIPP and the tomfoolery within. She somehow puts up with me. A sort-of fiancee!

RFPC spanned a year of nostalgic video game goodness. Only a few episodes, but I still love the idea of DITL.
